Our Theme :
We designed a Home Collection for Fabindia inspired by Japanese florals with modern foliage, tactile accents, brush-strokes accent, organic textures, patterned tiling in natural dyes.
Process
With a vision to maximize the handmade element in our products, whether it is handwoven textiles, hand block printing, hand embroidery or hand screen print, the process for Ikigai Home is screen printing from the roots of Rajasthan, a village called Kala Dera is where we executed the process.
We explored only natural colors for this process like Harda, Cyahi, Begar, Kashish, Indigo extracted from plants and natural elements around.
We also made layouts for cushion cover, quilts, dhurrie, table cover, mats, curtains, runners for Fabindia Home Range
Results
One of the most widespread techniques used for fabric decoration, Natural color printing has been practiced by extremely skilful artisans for centuries in India. This remarkable traditional craft of fabric printing involves the use of carved screen, with separate screen for each colour pressed against fabric with great precision to create striking patterns. Examples of this very fine screen printing go back centuries.
